There is plenty to experience in our region, including: walking the National Parks coastal tracks; beach strolls and swimming; snorkeling; fishing and of course sailing!
Te Harinui is Māori, meaning Great Joy. She is of a very high standard and easily competes on the international stage. All tours on board Te Harinui are skippered. During your stay your skipper is your personal host and guide, sharing local stories, interesting facts on the geology, flora and fauna, and customizing the time aboard to suit you.
Anchoring in secluded bays before sunset, the evening could be spent swimming in phosphorescence or exploring glow worm caves. You will awake to the sound of the morning birdsong while enjoying the stillness and beauty of the sunrise. Your days may be spent enjoying: one of NZ’s Great Walks in the lush native bush of the Abel Tasman Coastal Trail; Marveling at NZ fur seals, marine and bird life; Exploring the northern end of the National Park accessible by only a few; Paddle boarding along golden beaches; Collecting fresh mussels off the rocks; or BBQ your freshly caught fish.
Delight in your own private yacht waiting at the end of each day with a hot meal, delightful local wines and a comfy bed. With all these opportunities at your fingertips and an all-inclusive package, there’s no better way to experience a true local kiwi holiday than on board Te Harinui.
For all self catered tours, plan to bring along your own food and beverages. You will have use of the well-equipped galley (kitchen), including basic pantry supplies, tea & coffee. Please note it is customary that you provide the skippers meals during your stay.
Optional add on: Arrange for a fully catered package and include all meals provided by onboard chef. We can cater to most dietary requests, please inform us at time of booking.
Location: Multi-day tours depart from Nelson waterfront. Kaiteriteri Beach departs can be arranged at extra charge.
