The sound and

feeling is somewhat

indescribable and

truly amazing when

the sails raise,

inflate, and send

you cruising over

the gorgeous waters

of the Abel Tasman

National Park.

Location

New Zealand/South Island/Nelson region...

New Zealand is the largest of the Polynesian island groups in the South Pacific. Many international airlines fly into New Zealand daily from all corners of the globe.   Air New Zealand has the most comprehensive range of flights in and out of the three main centres daily.  Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch are the main International airports.  From any of these there are regular national flights into our nearest airport, in Nelson.

Nelson is our nearest city and is located in Tasman Bay.  The city centre is a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport.  There are regular buses to the Abel Tasman which take about 1.5 hours and cost $NZ42 return.  These bus services can drop you off at our Marahau or Kaiteriteri base.  Let us arrange your Nelson transfers for you!

The Nelson/Tasman region is a special part of New Zealand, with the highest sun shine hours of the country and a warm atmosphere, making the perfect place for happy people, funky places and lots of beach and water activities. Nelson_Sunshine_Hours

Kaiteriteri/Boat Departures/Our office...

Kaiteriteri is one of New Zealand’s most popular beaches and it has been voted as one of the “Top 10 Beaches in the World” by a British tabloid magazine.

Kaiteriteri has been developed as a holiday resort and it has been a favourite holiday destination for Kiwis for many decades.  With a wide range of accommodation options, a general store, cafe, restaurant, takeaway bar & 2 large camping grounds, there is everything you need.  You'll find our ticket booth/office here, set up every day from October 01 - April 30.

Most of our daily tours leave from here at 10:00a.m. (Check-in is 9.30a.m.). Exclusive charters are also available from here each day.

Marahau/Abel Tasman National Park Gateway...

Marahau is the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park and translates from Maori to English as "Windy Gardens".  The Bay is known as Sandy Bay and is well named being the longest golden sand beach in the region.  Marahau is located six bays north of Kaiteriteri.

Marahau is a little village with approximately 200 permanent residents, one of the most special things about it in my opinion is that it is like a road with no exit.  So if you drive there it is because you want to go there and access in to the National Park is only by foot or boat.

There is a complete range of shore based accommodations available from backpackers to 4-star. There are two restaurants, a takeaway bar, a general store, an art gallery and plenty of activities to indulge in.  If you are staying in Marahau, we offer free transfers to and from Kaiteriteri twice daily to link up with our daily tours.

Our walk/sail and sea/kayak/sail options check-in here in Marahau at 8.30a.m.
