TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CANCELLATIONS
We reserve the right to reschedule, reroute or cancel a trip due to weather, customer safety or other reasons. If we cancel the trip we refund the time affected.

Scheduled Day tours
If we cancel the trip or part of the trip we refund the time affected.
If the customer cancels within 24 hours of departure, no refund.
If customer cancels prior to 24 hours before departure, full refund.
Multi-day and Exclusive Overnight Tours
Prior to 90 days before charter, full refund , no cancellation fee.
90 – 60 days before charter, refund less $200 cancellation fee.
59 – 30 days before charter, 30% refund of total charter cost.*
Less than 30 days – no refund. *
*If we are able to rehire the vessel to equivalent charter fee we will refund, less 20% or $200, whatever is greater, as cancellation fee.
Day or Part Day Exclusive Charter
Prior to 30 days full refund

30 days to 8 days before charter refund less 30% charter fee as cancellation fee.

7 days or less, No refund.

PAYMENT
We accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards – please phone details or book on line. We accept direct payment to our bank account – please phone or email for details.
Scheduled Tours
We hold your credit card details for booking confirmation. On the day of the tour you can choose your preferred method of payment, i.e. cash, credit card or eft-pos.
Exclusive Charters
Multi Day Exclusive Charter
Deposit of one third charter fee received secures a reservation.
Second third payment required 60 days prior to charter date.
Final payment required 30 days prior to charter.
Day or Part Day Exclusive Charter
Payment in full or deposit of 50% charter fee received secures a reservation.
Final Payment due on commencement of charter.

 
SAFETY
The skipper is responsible for all safety decisions.
All skippers are commercially qualified and are Maritime New Zealand certified. They are certified First Aiders.
All vessels are Maritime New Zealand surveyed. They are externally audited to ensure systems and operating procedures are of highest standards. There is a documented maintenance program and all gear is maintained regularly.
Clients must inform Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures of any pre-existing medical conditions prior to trip departure. Adults must ensure children in their care follow the instructions of the skipper. Skipper’s instructions must be followed at all times.
WEATHER
Overcast, drizzle or rain will not mean cancellation of the trip. We expect clients to honor their booking. We reserve the right to reschedule, reroute or cancel a trip due to weather, customer safety or other reasons. If we cancel the trip we will refund the time affected. For canceled trips we will try to re-book on an alternative day.
LIABILITY
All care will be taken by Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures when handling client’s equipment and belongings but will take no responsibility. Under all circumstances the client is responsible for their personal equipment and belongings. We recommend clients have their own travel insurance.
